Chicago-based Taylored Wines launches

Taylored Wines, an online platform designed to connect wine buyers with world-class, limited production boutique wineries, launched in Chicago this week. Chicago opens Digital Media Lab for students

South Side teens will now have access to a digital media lab at the Woodson Regional Library. Konekt raises $1.3M to connect remote Internet-of-things devices via the cellular network

Instead of connecting Internet-of-things devices to the Internet via WiFi or Bluetooth, Konekt believes there are some devices that should be linked via a cellular network. The startup has just raised $1.3 million to test that idea in the market. Funding came from NextView Ventures, Mucker Capital, the Tyler Willis Syndicate, Chris Muhr of Groupon and, Raj Ruparell of Groupon. [Built In Chicago]

Hyde Park Angels and 1871 team for education series

Hyde Park Angels is launching a four-part early-stage investment education series for entrepreneurs of all levels in collaboration with partner 1871 and series sponsor The Wall Street Journal.
