5 hottest events for Chicago’s tech startup community this week

Looking to expand your network or learn more about the latest news in Chicago tech? From a celebration of entrepreneurship to a tech forum, this week is full of events sure to inspire anyone in Chicago.

1. CloudCamp Chicago: FinTech, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

CloudCamp presents a fintech themed "unconference." It's a series of short lightning talks, an "unpanel" with audience participation & questions, and small breakout clusters around beers & pizza. They're set to cover security for both customers and enterprises, managing growing mountains of data and using cloud in fintech from mobile banking to trading. 

2. Corporate to Startup: How to Make the Switch, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.

The Digital Professional Institute discusses how to step out of a traditional business role and join a startup. They'll talk about everything, from choosing the right company to understanding their needs and roles to figuring out what you actually have to offer them. 

3. Chicago Founders' Stories @1871, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.

Pat Ryan is hosting Mark Tebbe, Co-Founder of Answers.com and Founder of Lante Corporation, for this monthly, ongoing series with pizza and beer. Mark was the Co-Founder, Vice-Chairman of the Board and Lead Director of Answers Corporation, which created Answers.com. He also founded Lante Corporation, a Chicago-based technology consulting firm.

4. 5th Annual Entrepreneurship Bash, Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Bob Jordan, author of "How They Did It" interviews Joe Mansueto, founder and CEO of Morningstar to launch Chicago's premier innovative business community event. Hundreds of leaders, investors and key advisers from dozens of Chicago's entrepreneurial organizations gather to build and strengthen the networks of new Midwestern growth.

5. Built In Brews: Where Local Tech Meets Local Brews, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Kickback after work with other startup folk while sipping on some local craft brews and chowing down on BBQ from Bubcity. This month, Built In Brews is being hosted at Discover's new, high tech space with awesome riverfront views in River North.
