Chicago-based Groupon has been delivering daily deals to Chicagoans and people across the globe since 2008. They've added other offerings like Getaways and Goods, and today they've announced their newest service — Grouber.

Just pick a Groupon deal you've purchased and request a cat to drive you there to use it — and they'll take you back home! The drivers are "spayed, neutered and have no reason to curl up in your lap and make it awkward."

April Fools! Clearly this is a clever prank by the coupon provider, but it definitely gave us a laugh.

“We’ve yet to see anyone successfully tackle the transportation-for-hire market, and launching our own service made purrfect sense for Groupon because we have tens of millions of customers looking to redeem deals without having to claw their way through traffic,” Barnicus Stapleton, feline fleet commander and director of haulage and wellness, said in a statement. “With Grøüber, we make redeeming a Groupon even more seamless by having our cats physically deliver customers to the business. And best of all, you can be assured of a peaceful ride because everyone knows that cats have complete indifference towards people.”

This isn't the first time Groupon has played an April Fools joke on the world, and certainly not the first time they've used cats for humor, but we bet they gave the folks at Uber a good chuckle about this one.

Way to celebrate the holiday, Groupon.

In case you missed it, Groupon isn't the only tech company getting in the holiday spirit
