With all the brouhaha surrounding Ellen Pao’s vexed decision to step down as Reddit’s interim CEO, you might have missed a couple of recent, key leadership appointments and shifts in the Chicago tech arena. Luckily, Chicago’s transitions have been much more peaceable. We've rounded them up to keep you up to date on the who's who—and who's where—of Chicago.
Civis Analytics announced that O’Reilly Media founder Tim O’Reilly has joined the company’s Board of Directors. O’Reilly joins Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, who has backed Civis Analytics since its inception in 2013. The founding team comprises the analytics team behind President Obama’s successful reelection campaign in 2012. O’Reilly and Schmidt will act as mentors as the company scales their brand new data science platform, Civis.
Analyte Health, a consumer-focused digital healthcare delivery company, recently tapped Dr. Frank Cockerill as the company’s new CEO. Dr. Cockerill boasts an impressive resume, which includes tenure as both Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic and President and CEO of Mayo Collaborative Services, Inc. Analyte Health uses its digital clinics to arm consumers with convenient access to education, diagnostic testing, and personalized results and recommendations and has already served over 250,000 patients.
In a statement to customers and partners, Fieldglass CEO Jai Shekhawat recently announced several executive leadership changes within the company. After 16 years of leadership, Shekhawat will take a position on the company’s advisory board, starting in August. He said he plans to stay involved in the Chicago tech community as a mentor to budding entrepreneurs. EVP of Worldwide Sales Rob Brimm will take over as President of Fieldglass, while Vish Baliga will remain CTO. Additionally, Arun Srinivasan, VP of Strategy & Marketing, will be promoted to join the executive leadership team as head of Strategy and Customer Operations.
