On Tuesday, dining-discovery app Savoir launched in Chicago with its free iOS mobile app, offering Chicagoland foodies a catalogue of local restaurants to explore.

“Savoir is designed to provide the ultimate dining experience, from finding the best restaurants in a specific location, to figuring out places your friends and family have dined and thoroughly enjoyed,” said Nirav Saraiya, co-founder and CEO of Savoir in a statement.

With the help of nutritional recommendations, restaurant reviews, and featured promotions and deals, Savoir allows users to curate their own dining experience by posting, viewing, and sharing reviews with people in their circles.

Additionally, Savoir pulls in promotions and ratings from sources like Groupon, Amazon Local, and Yelp to ensure that users have access to available deals. The startup, which was founded in 2013, is available with more than 600 Chicagoland restaurants to choose from.

Savoir joins an already crowded room of other food and restaurant discovery-related platforms in Chicago. In addition to standards like Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Foursquare, Chicago foodies can also browse and discover restaurants from FlavourTaste Savant, and MyFab5, among others.
