We sat down with three Chicago-based CEOs to see what apps get them through the day and which ones they actively avoid:

What app(s) on your phone could you not live without?
I'm obsessed with Facebook Paper and Flipboard. I'm an absolute news junkie and I read news and articles all the time. I probably read from every major news source at this point.

What useful app(s) are on your phone that you wouldn't expect to see on someone else's?
I really like Silvercar. With this app, I can always rent an Audi anytime I drive anywhere. Also, Acorns is one of my favorite savings apps — it's just awesome. It invests spare change automatically from everyday purchases into a diversified portfolio.
What app(s) did you delete or refuse to download?
Facebook. I find it to be distracting on my phone. Luckily, Facebook Paper is a separate app.
What app is your guilty pleasure?
Instagram is my guilty pleasure app because I just look at pictures of watches and nice cars, which incidentally, are also my guilty pleasures.
Syndio makes large organizations more like start-ups; nimble, responsive, and able to tackle anything thrown at them. They arm organizations with actionable people analytics, the intersection of HR analytics and relational analytics.

I couldn't live without gTasks, Tidal, Amazon, Google Maps.
What useful app(s) are on your phone that you wouldn't expect to see on someone else's?
I wouldn't expect to see the Golf Channel Am Tour app on others' phones. (I recently joined this, thanks to my good friend Jameson Neuhoff, VP Ops at Worthee).
What app(s) did you delete or refuse to download?

I recently deleted Twitter because I just don't have time for it.
What app is your guilty pleasure?
My not-so-guilty pleasure apps are HBO Go and WatchESPN.

Hipchat — that app is probably on a lot of people's phones if they are in the startup space, but not the general population.

DraftKings.
