A flock of Chicago investors invests $7.5M in Healthfinch

Healthfinch, a medical software company based in Madison, Wis., has raised a $7.5 million Series A from some of Chicago’s most prolific investors.

Adams Street Partners led the round, with participation from JumpStart Ventures, Chicago Ventures, OCA Ventures and Abundant Venture Partners.

Healthfinch makes software to automate and organize certain routine, repeatable, and electronic tasks. The company was co-founded by Dr. Lyle Berkowitz, the associate chief medical officer for innovation at Chicago's Northwestern Memorial Hospital, with Healthfinch CEO Jonathan Baran, a biomedical engineer based in Madison.

They launched their software platform, Charlie, in 2009 to integrate with electronic health records and help doctors save time on administrative duties. Healthfinch also offers tools like Swoop to manage prescription refill requests, Chirp for automated communication with patients and Scout for chart review automation and order prep.
