What's in Store for Crowdfunding in 2016?, January 19 at 6 p.m.

2015 was a big year for crowdfunding — what can entrepreneurs, real estate professionals and investors expect in 2016? With the recent adoption of Title III of the JOBS Act, crowdinvesting will soon be open to all investors. Chicago-based real estate crowdfunding platform PeerRealty and Elmspring Chicago are hosting this meetup to educate investors, entrepreneurs and real estate professionals how they can benefit from crowdfunding.

Overcoming Impostor Syndrome, January 19 at 6 p.m.

This evening workshop, designed for women and non-binary people in tech, will focus on how to overcome Impostor Syndrome. Using the open source curriculum released by the Ada Initiative, this workshop will explore how to overcome the feeling that you aren’t actually qualified for the work you are doing and the fear you will be discovered as a fraud. Chicago Founder Night Out - Entrepreneur Networking, Drinks, & Fun!, January 20 at 6 p.m.

The Founder Night Out is a fun, social event where you can meet local entrepreneurs and technology CEOs, and share your business ideas and aspirations with like-minded peers. There will also be the local Founder Institute Director, Mentors, and Graduates in attendance. Join us for drinks and some startup networking!  The event is sponsored by Founder Institute Chicago and Colliers International.

Tales from the Trenches: Dr. Griffin Myers of Oak Street Health, January 21 at 6 p.m.

, and present “Tales from the Trenches” featuring founder and chief medical officer of Oak Street Health Griffin Myers. ContextMedia co-founder and CEO Rishi Shah will interview Dr. Myers and discuss his unique path from medicine to entrepreneurship. Since opening its first clinic in September 2013, Oak Street has grown to 15 clinics, where 600 employees treat 11,000 patients, reducing their hospital admission rate by a staggering 45%.

Chicago VR Meetup, January 21 at 6:30 p.m.

This event is designed to help attendees meet the virtual reality makers and shakers of Chicago. With Oculus Rift preorders now live, excitement surrounding VR is at an all-time high. Hosted at Coalition Impact, come for a night of interactive demo stations to see just how real virtual reality has become.
