Position: Technical Product Manager

Why it's cool: iLoan is on a mission to make borrowing money easier so that consumers can have a better, tech-enabled way to take control of their finances.

What you'd do: You’d be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers to success throughout all stages of the technical development process. In this role, you’d be charged with understanding Springleaf’s long- and short-term vision and strategy and ultimately be able to build products that deliver on those goals.

Who they're looking for: To land this gig, you’ll need a BS or MS in Computer Science, previous experience as a product manager in a similarly fast-paced and tech-centric role, and a passion for building web and software products.

 

 

Position: Software Engineer

Why it's cool: Frontline makes technology that allows educators to do their job better, which ultimately helps students learn, grow, and prosper. Their cloud-based software helps administrators recruit, hire, and manage absences among their staff, with tools to augment professional learning and educators, too.

What you'd do: As a software engineer, you’d be working alongside an agile scrum dev team to build and maintain a host of internal tools, applications, and services to help support client services and manage Frontline’s application suite.

Who they're looking for: For this role, you’d need at least five years of technical experience to stand out out from the crowd. Additionally, Frontline lives by their core values, so they’re looking for people that exemplify them both in and out of work.

 

 

Position: Java Team Lead

Why it's cool: Geofeedia is blazing the trail for location-based social media monitoring and analysis, allowing clients like McDonald’s and Dell to filter, organize, and analyze social content and activity in real time and from multiple sources.

What you'd do: Geofeedia’s Java team works with some of the most premier social media data sets in the world (think Twitter, YouTube, Instagram). As part of that team, you’d be designing and implementing microservices and processing modules for a system capable of writing more than one billion data points a day.

Who they're looking for: To really make your application shine, it’s best it you've got basic understandings of dependency injections models, functional programming models, and are comfortable coding in open source java projects. Bonus points if you’ve got experience working with the Jackson JSON parser or managing local docker instances under your belt.

 

 

Position: Senior Front End Developer

What you'd do: In this role, you’ll get to be involved with a ton of stages of the lifecycle of software development. That means you’ll test your hand at analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support, in addition to other opportunities along the way. 

Who they're looking for: Textura’s looking for a heads-down coder who’s a problem-solving wiz. Being able to work well independently or with others with is a boon, as well.

 

 

 

Position: DevOps Engineer

Why it's cool: In 2015, Peapod was one of the top 100 largest employers of digital tech workers in Chicago. If that wasn’t cool enough, Peapod’s tech team (dubbed the Peapod Propulsion Lab) works out of a pretty awesome office in the Loop.

What you'd do: As a DevOps Engineer, your main responsibilities would include implementing and providing upkeep for the processes and tools empowering Peapod’s fast-growing dev teams.

Who they're looking for: They want someone totally obsessed with automation, with an open-minded commitment to open-source software and an ability to work with little direction to find and implement to best solutions to problems.
