James Risley

Each week, we bring you the top tech events happening around Chicago. This week, we have panels on user-generated content, the future of foodtech and building robust quality assurance programs. Of course, we also have Built In Brews, hosted at closerlook’s offices. If you’re still looking for more, be sure to check out our full events calendar.

Built In Brews at closerlook, Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Come mingle with fellow members of the tech community in this candy-factory-turned warehouse. Closerlook is hosting the gathering, offering a selection of local appetizers and brews. It’s a great chance to peek inside a top name in Chicago’s tech scene while getting to know the community a little better.

Reviews and social media have completely changed how consumers think about brands. This panel will bring together pros from PowerReviews, Sprout Social and ReviewTrackers to talk about how the shift from branded content affects a marketer’s job. The panel is moderated by Illinois Technology Association CEO Fred Hoch.

Edible Tech: Connecting Bytes and Bites ft McDonald's, OpenTable, HomeChef & more, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Tech has changed every industry, including food. This panel will examine the intersection between where the two meet, with executives from McDonald’s, Tovala and more discussing the benefits of adding tech to cooking, nutrition and consumption.

How to Test When the Requirements are Unknown, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.

Even as software gets more complex, users tolerance for errors is shrinking.
