Each week we go through our events calendar in search of five can’t-miss happenings. In keeping with the Halloween spirit, this week’s list includes two costume parties. Continue below to see our complete list of recommendations.

Get Spooky with Queer Tech Club, October 24 at 6 p.m.

Join Queer Tech Club at Sidetrack in Boystown for a spooktacular night of networking and general tech talk. Costumes are encouraged but not required!

Experiential Tech for Tradeshows and Exhibits @ NEXT/NOW, October 25 at 5 p.m.

This panel is designed for brands, exhibitors, marketers and anyone else interested in keeping up with new event and trade show technology. The event will include a panel discussion on technologies like AR, VR and projection mapping, live demos and networking opportunities.

FUND Conference 2017, October 26 at 8 a.m.

This daylong thought leadership conference is designed to connect early-stage investors and startups. The event features keynotes, fireside chats and panels on everything from the importance of an MBA in the startup world to the tech trends VCs are sick of hearing about.

Meetup with Strive Consulting &UX!, October 26 at 6 p.m.

Chicago's UX Meetup group, &UX, is hosting its monthly meetup at Strive Consulting’s office in the Loop. The event will include a presentation by Strive Consulting along with an exercise in UX — a “UXercise,” if you will.

Matchmaker App Launch, October 27 at 7 p.m.

Luv Talk is celebrating the launch of its new dating advice app with a 1920s-style, speakeasy-themed party. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in period costumes and prizes will be given out to the best dressed attendees.
