Developing a Mobile App for On-the-Go Moms by Lisa Leiter, Crain's Chicago Business

The most popular refrain one hears from mothers is, "I have no time."

Elisa All is hoping that they will have at least 30 seconds to read or view tips on her new 30Second Mom mobile app.

Ms. All is a veteran new-media entrepreneur, whose iParenting Media business grew from one website in 1996 to more than 40 sites by 2007 when Walt Disney Co. bought the company for an undisclosed sum.

After "retiring" from Disney, Ms. All realized she was spending more time surfing the web on her smartphone than on her PC.

So she founded 30Second Mobile in fall 2010 and hopes to expand with other brands beyond 30Second Mom. Chicago-based U.S. Cellular signed on as 30Second Mom's launch sponsor last fall.

"We're only at the beginning of the explosive growth of mobile," Ms. All said. "It's happening faster than the internet boom happened and it's happening more efficiently.
