Spring break is frequently associated with beach vacations and raucous parties, but you don't have to indulge in a wild (and expensive!) getaway to have an enjoyable spring break. We've got ideas for staycations, daytrips, and lazy days for students everywhere. If you're looking for some spring break activity ideas, look no further!

1. Catch up on the nonessentials. A full course schedule can be very demanding of your time. Essays and labs don't care if you can't go on Twitter for fear of Scandal spoilers, and they are equally indifferent to your stack of unread books, your dusty knitting needles, and other neglected hobbies. Take some time this spring break to get up to speed on all the little things that the real world gets in the way of.

2. Explore the local culture and appreciate the arts. Whether you're spending spring break in a large city or a college town, there will be options for you to broaden your horizons. Look for concerts and plays nearby and check out something that you haven't seen before. Other great destinations include museums, aquariums, and planetariums. Frequently, one low price can get you an entire day of entertainment at these venues.

3. Reconnect with an old friend. Everyone has good friends that they haven't seen in a while. Take advantage of the scheduling freedom provided by spring break by setting up a lunch date with someone you haven't seen in a while.

4. Indulge! If you've been considering a visit to a nice restaurant or fancy spa, take the opportunity to treat yourself this spring break. If you're feeling guilty about it, just remember all the money you saved by not taking a trip.

5. Host a party. Chances are that you're not the only person forgoing a spring break vacation. Touch base with your social circle and set up a fun party for spring break. If the weather permits, a garden theme certainly fits the season and between March Madness, MLB Opening Day, and Wrestlemania there are plenty of opportunities for a snack potluck.

6. Sleep! When was the last time you weren't tired? If the answer isn't last weekend, ditch the alarm clock this spring break and get reacquainted with slumberland.

Whatever you do this spring break, we hope you have a great time! If you have any additional ideas for spring break activities, please feel encouraged to share them!
