Birdfeud Launches Public Beta, Let the Debates Begin!

Earlier this summer, we came together and decided we wanted to build a product to capture the energy and excitement around all the exciting events on the horizon. Between the Summer Olympics, football/baseball season, and the 2012 Election, we knew that Twitter would be abuzz in the coming months.

We love Twitter, but we saw that it failed to deliver on a few key fronts:

  1. People need a place to have group discussions or debates.
  2. People need a targeted destination to explore and share opinions while they’re watching television or getting caught up on breaking news.
  3. People need to be rewarded for their knowledge/expertise in an environment that is social, competitive, and fun.

Birdfeud leverages the Twitter API, taking the Twitter experience to a new level with topical debates about the hottest topics online. We made it fun and easy to connect and engage in just a matter of clicks.

We’re incredibly excited to be launching our public beta this afternoon. For the next few weeks, we’ll be running a handful of debates each day. We’d love to hear your feedback and ideas to make Birdfeud a more fun and engaging social debate platform. And in case you’re wondering, keep an eye out for our mobile site and apps in the next few months. Please visit www.birdfeud.com to participate and www.birdfeud.com/feedback to give feedback.

We’re here in Chicago at 1871 and thrilled to be a part of this growing tech community.

We hope you all enjoy this as much as we do.
