BOOST (Building Opportunities for Original and Sustainable Thinking) is a community-driven platform for financing emerging innovations in Chicago's green economy.
BOOST awards modest, unrestricted funding to help launch enterprises that will strengthen the environmental and economic health of the Chicagoland region.
We are currently recruiting applicants who have an emerging venture that could take advantage of $3000+ of unrestricted funding and a network of engaged supporters.
Here's how it works: Local Innovators complete an application describing their initiative and its impact on the green economy. Applications are evaluated by the Delta Emerging Leaders, and the most promising Innovators get to present at a live BOOST event. Event attendees, or Boosters, vote for their favorite proposals, and Innovators receiving the most votes are awarded a share of the night’s proceeds (>$3000 each) plus a package of in-kind resources tailored to their project.
Many talented Chicagoans are developing inspired green enterprises—often in their spare time, without sufficient resources to bring them to scale. BOOST not only provides those resources, but also creates a vehicle for young professionals to connect with and invest in these promising local ventures.
