bswift Moves Chicago Headquarters to Accommodate Growth and Attract Top Talent

CHICAGO -- (www.twitter.com/techaccesstv) --bswift, a leader in software and services for employee benefits administration, today announced that it moved its Chicago headquarters office to 10 South Riverside Plaza in order to accommodate the company’s rapid growth. The new offices are more than double the square footage of bswift’s previous Chicago home at 224 North Des Plaines.

“25 Best Small Companies to Work for in America”

bswift selected the space for its open floor plan, stunning views of the Chicago River and convenient West Loop location directly atop Union Station. It is close to numerous restaurants, hotels and modes of public transportation including the Chicago Water Taxi. The building is a classic 1965 Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Chicago black steel skyscraper that has been recently upgraded and is LEED certified.

“We are committed to continued growth in Chicago. At bswift, our employees are as critical to our overall success as our software technology, so it is important to have a workplace environment that is not only comfortable and inviting, but also fosters innovation, teamwork and fun. We hope to attract and retain top talent in our region by moving into this premier office space,” said bswift CEO Rich Gallun. “Our new home will also help us better serve our clients and partners by offering a place that is conducive to training and collaboration.”

bswift partnered with Milwaukee-based design firm Kahler Slater to renovate the 11th floor space. Kahler Slater, named one of the “25 Best Small Companies to Work for in America” by the Great Place to Work Institute for seven years running, is a leader in designing workspaces that reflect and reinforce a company’s culture. The firm conducted visioning sessions with bswift employees before drawing up space plans for the new office.

“One critical component of corporate culture is a company’s workplace—its physical environment for its treasured talent,” said Barbara Armstrong, Principal and Workplace Experience Strategist of Kahler Slater. “Yet many CEOs ignore, overlook, or just don’t get that. For bswift, it was a number one priority.”

Brian Atkinson and Nikki Kern of Jones Lang LaSalle completed the transaction on behalf of the building’s owner, Behringer Harvard. John Kinsella of Grubb & Ellis represented bswift.

“We are excited to add bswift to our tenant roster at 10 South Riverside,” said Atkinson, a Jones Lang LaSalle Vice President. “They are an up-and-coming Chicago business in a growth segment of the economy. We were able to provide a solution that allows them to offer their employees an outstanding work environment in an excellent location with room to expand in the future.”
