Partnered with the University of Illinois, Black Founders is bringing the Ideas are Worthless conference to Chicago. The conference brings together diverse perspectives on tech entrepreneurship while providing a platform for emerging companies, entrepreneurs, and investors to connect and take action. The conference will be a one day intensive taking place April 24th at the Illini Center in the heart of Chicago’s financial district.
The conference will begin with talks on design thinking, product validation, and funding; followed by a startup clinic that allows entrepreneurs to meet one-on-one with investors and established moguls to receive feedback on their ideas and pitches. The conference will end with participant-driven breakout sessions where attendees will discuss entrepreneurship issues and share advice with one another.
The goal of the conference is twofold; first is to equip the members of the Chicago minority community with the skills necessary to build successful tech companies. The second is to introduce the minority community to successful members of the bustling Chicago entrepreneurship scene.Panels featuring members of this Chicago community will broaden the perspective of the attendees and encourage them to build their companies in the Chicago area.
