On October 11-12 there is a great conference in Chicago you should consider attending,  CATTECH V.  There are a confluence of events there.  First, all of the tech transfer chiefs from the major research universities in the midwest will be there. If you go to the site MRUN.us, you can see who they are.  They will bring some of their top companies started by students that are looking for a little investment.  Second, many of the top angels and angel groups from the midwest will be there.  It's a great chance to network with them, and interact.  Third, there are some tremendous speakers from the VC community, Steve Burrill for example, and a segment on Going Global.

The conference will be hosted by the Illinois Science and Technology Park up in Skokie, IL.  It's an easy trip from downtown Chicago by car or public transportation. Very easy to get to if you are in the suburbs too.

They might be looking for companies to present that are affiliated with the MRUN schools. Click the links and check it out.
