I'd like to offer Bernhard/Todd/Julia and the rest of the 2013 Chicago Lean Startup entrepreneurs a big shoutout for the amount of teaching/learning done this summer! I've never been closer to my dream of creating a business, thanks to all of you guys. It's difficult to mention all the things learned in one blog post, but the most important lesson I learned is the following: Starting a business isn't about invention and miracle ideas, although for very few it is. For most, business generation is a scientific methodology where business models are researched and tested in real markets. With enough time, energy and persistence, a team can make market impact by having the empathy to listen and willingness to react.
