The fourth annual Chicago Lean Startup Challenge is proud to showcase the 2014 startup challengers! There are 20 semi-finalists from diverse industries spanning real estate through international trade and health care. The four finalists will compete for thousands in cash and prizes later this fall.
The Challenge began on July 12th with an all-day bootcamp, immersing the group in the principles of lean business model generation. During an intense 8-week period, the teams learned how to get out of the building, perform crucial customer interviews, quickly iterate pieces of their business model and get to revenue.
The semi-finalists will be judged based on how much they were able to learn in the short time period in order to de-risk the business model that they have been investigating. The four finalists will then receive a month of hands-on mentorship and training to help them further nail down product/market fit. One finalist will be chosen after a live judging round by local entrepreneur leaders.
