Did you happen to notice Chicago’s own Spare to Share, Divvy Bikes or Fulton Street Collective while channel surfing yesterday or today? Missed it? No worries. Check it out here:

This nice 3 minute piece focuses on the sharing economy, aka collaborative consumption, and some of the leading companies and trends in this movement in Chicago. Fulton Street Collective, a co-working space dedicated to the development of artists and the artistic community (also a Spare to Share customer) leads it off. Divvy, Chicago’s very cool bike sharing program is prominently featured. To wrap it up the Spare to Share service and platform is described and shown, including snippets from an interview with yours truly!

Very cool piece! And it's being shown nationally, several times. For us at Spare to Share, this is leading to new business and new usage already!

On that note, give Spare to Share a try! Dip your toe in by loading up a few DVD’s, video games or books to see how it works. No risk – no cost! You don’t even have to share if you don’t want, and no one will see your stuff unless you invite them to your private sharegroup. You can even use it just to organize and keep track of what you have. Register on our website (www.sparetoshare.com), or via the iPhone app or Android app. It’s actually kind of fun to scan the bar codes on your stuff.
