Last year, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship introduced a new award category in the long-running Edward L. Kaplan, ’71 New Venture Challenge start-up competition: The People’s Choice Award. NVC teams were invited to submit a one-minute pitch video about their business, and the general public cast a vote for their favorite.
This year, we’re partnering with Built In Chicago to host the competition. Members of the Built In Chicago community are encouraged to check out videos from participating NVC teams, and help their favorite earn the popular vote.
Like, tweet, and share your favorite entries with others. The team with the most promotions on Built In Chicago by Friday May 18 will be declared the People’s Choice winner.
The People’s Choice Award winner will be announced at the on May 24, at the UChicago Innovation Showcase, along with the winners of the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71 New Venture Challenge Finals. In addition to fame and glory, the winning team will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
