Ideas for a launch event?

We are officially less than 2 weeks away from launching KoalaDeal to the public, and things are really starting to come together!

We got our location for the launch party and social media blitz - thanks very much to Fred Hoch and the fine folks at Illinois Technology Association for offering up their facility. After reading this article (http://www.techflash.com/seattle/2011/03/how-to-launch-a-startup-for-4215.html) about launching in seattle, we decided to do a social media blitz and war room here in Chicago. To some extent, we're figuring it out as we go, but we think it's going to be fun.

We know we need to generate blog/video/social content, and have that ready to go. We have 40 people or so already signed up to help us disseminate content. We are getting some help from friends in the social media space.

But - the question for anyone out there, if you were organizing a launch event, had people signed up to help, and were looking for interesting stuff to do - what ideas would you have?

I'd love any feedback!
