MidCamp, a Drupal training conference, will include a day of Drupal training. Participants can learn Drupal 8 site building, Drupal 8 module development, Drupal best practices, Twig and Build-A-Module.

The MidCamp planning committee is delighted to announce the inclusion of MidCamp Drupal Training Day, March 28th. As part of the weekend long MidCamp event announced earlier this month, some of the Midwest’s finest Drupal professionals have agreed to lead and mentor beginners and professionals on a range of topics for full or half day sessions. This is an exciting opportunity not only for professionals looking to extend their skill set but for those in the Midwest community exploring the possibility of either building their first Drupal website or using Drupal as a solution for their business needs.

Larry Garfield and Andrea Soper of Palantir, Drupal Core developers and Senior Architect and Developer respectively, will lead two half day session, one as an introduction to Drupal 8 site building and the other to Drupal 8 module development. Scott Massey, Director of Custom Success of Pantheon and Doug Vann, the Chicago-based Drupal consultant and trainer, will lead a day long session to get developers up-to-speed on best practices for deploying a Drupal site. Scott Reeves of Digital Enchida and Erik Baldwin of Cloud NYNE Design will help to ensure that Drupal Themers are prepared for Drupal 8 front end development with an introduction to Twig. Finally, Promet Source and Build a Module have paired up to offer a day of mentoring for anyone from content editors to developers just learning about Drupal (either Drupal 7 or Drupal 8) and looking to get on track with all the tools and mentoring they need to accomplish their goals.

"To me, one of the best things about the Drupal community is the ideal that we haven’t completely reached our goal until we have shared the path to how we got there," said Massey of Pantheon, who is sponsoring the day’s event.

As Drupal continues to gain market share as a CMS platform, continued education for Drupal developers is more important than ever. Skilled Drupal developers are in demand; MidCamp will advance the community’s skillset to meet the demands of the IT industry. Further, Drupal 8 will be released in 2014; this training offers a unique opportunity for developers and companies to become familiar with the update before it is released.

These training opportunities range in price from $25 to $250 dollars and are open to the public for registration.
