In honor of Melanoma Awareness month, Mole Detective will be donating 10% of proceeds to the Melanoma Research Foundation for all downloads for the month of May.  Mole Detective is a smartphone app that takes pictures of moles and analyzes them for symptoms of melanoma.  The app was inspired by a melanoma survivor who was diagnosed when he was only 27 years old.  With melanoma cases on the rise for the past 40 years in the US and the devastating 15% survival rate at stage four, it has become even more important than ever to be checking and tracking your moles for symptoms.  The app allows you to understand what symptoms your moles might be showing including tracking change over time.  Spread the word about skin cancer and be sun safe this summer by using lots of sunscreen.  Sounds lame but in the words of a cancer survivor 'no tan is worth dying for.'
