If you are a business owner, or a decision maker in a organization I'm sure you have gotten calls about a website, marketing and all that whole speech, but what is a real ROI on a website? I'm here to explain and set the truth free. My name is Wilbur You, and I'm the CEO and Founder of Youtech & Associates, Inc a Creative Ad Agency located in Naperville, Illinois. Our specialty is web development and we have been ranked #24 in the world for it, so trust me when I tell you in this article the real importance of a website, and the difference between a good website and a great website. As most people know, the world is moving fast, and it is waiting for no one. Businesses are starting, and closing every single day, but what is the real difference between those companies that open and the companies that see success to the ones that don't? One of the biggest issues and concern is the web presence. Period. End of discussion. No matter what industry you are in, whether its manufacturing, or retail, service, or construction it doesn't matter. If you don't have a website, or at least a good one you will go out of business.

As Bill Gates said, "If your business is not on the internet, you have no business".

Websites range from all different price points, you can build a website for $1000.00 or pay for one up to $100,000.00. Why such a drastic change? I'll give you 5 reasons why there is a huge difference.

  1. Structure of the Website - This could mean how the website is built, what kind of code it uses, and what operating systems and browsers it can perform on.
  2. Design - This is the overall visual appeal of the website, how compelling will it be. You have less than 3 seconds to grab the visitors attention.
  3. Responsiveness - This is a newer feature, which really depicts the price of a website. Since the trends show that everything is moving to mobile, a responsive website solves that issue in which the website can respond to any size screen, and will automatically reformat for mobile, tablet and laptops.
  4. SEO - Other known as Search Engine Optimization which allows the ability the people that are looking for your type of services to find you on search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
  5. Customer Service - The most important one! Just like fixing your car for people that don't know how, websites are the same thing. If you need something changed on a website, or the ability to add new things, you don't want to wait weeks for it to be done, and you don't want to pay $500.00 for a picture change.

These are all important needs of a website, and how you pay for what you get. So what is the ROI on a website? Website ROI really ranges from Negative ROI to a Huge ROI and it is hard to track for those that don't know how. I'll break it down into a formula in which everyone can really find out what their return was. Screen Shot 2014-04-10 at 12.00.08 PM     Take my advice. Pay more for your website. It can be the huge differencebetween your business being profitable and being well... out of business.
