It's been a busy day for the team here at Packback. We had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Tony during a morning Tasty Trade interview earlier featuring our story. The rest of the day focuses on our Technori Pitch tonight!

We've come a long way from being the broke college kids with a plan to ease some of our financial "textbook problems". Ok, so maybe we still haven't all graduated from college, but we've built up some pretty great excuses to ditch class. Our Technori pitch will touch on our background story, and a few of the break-throughs we made by essentially cold-colling the corporate education universe out of our shabby student-housing apartments.

Delving into the Packback model, we'll explain why the $8 billion (yes- BILLion) textbook industry is at such a state of turmoil, and how publishers are signing up to work with us on a Fall '13 pilot exclusively at Illinois State University. The end goal is to save students money while enabling publishers to regain massive lost revenue holes attributed the secondary book markets. How do we do it? Through our student-centric platform which, at the core, rents digital textbooks in 24-hour periods to cost-concious students. Think "Redbox for books". Whatever a student spends on rental, is then directly discounted from a conversion to purchase. Thus ensuring that the students (our buddies) transparently "pay per use".

As you can imagine, there are all sorts of interesting ways to implement the wealth of student learning data we are able to capture. We've been on a long journey, and it's still only the beggining.

So come check us out at in the Chase Auditorium at 7:00 for Technori Pitch Night!
