Sharks: Yay or Nay?

Heading to Shark Tank open call on Friday.  What's your initial reaction?  What's the word on the street?  Do it or don't?  I don't know but I'm open to your opinions.

I crammed yesterday by watching all 10 episodes on demand because I don't watch the show normally.

Even though I know I'm headed to an overly-produced forgone conclusion that they will twist for the sake of good television;  I can't help but admit that their experience, expertise and advice is spot on.

Is it coming from a negative place that my only goal for going on the show is to get some good advice?  I'm pre-revenue, have decent traction for a boot-strapped start-up and recently pivoted to broaden the FOAF vision to include Yelp and Angie's List type reviews for your personal FOAF network so we can get vetted reviews for a change!

96% of consumers trust a known/trusted referral source over any other.  So, bringing that "HEY, you gotta guy who can re-do my kitchen?"  With FOAF it will be searchable and you can see opinions/reviews and referrals to the 3rd degree within your trusted network.

I want to use an app like that.  Do you see a space for it?  WIll the sharks (or their casting people?)  I don't know but the gamble is the potential humiliation on national television but the upside is that I can get a hell of a lot more users and that's the goal now.
