Stephen Crivillaro is paying close attention to the Second Annual Global Pizza Summit and the inaugural U.S. Caputo Cup Pizza Competition, scheduled for the middle of January 2015.

He won't be taking part in any of those events. But as a would-be entrepreneur who is now working in the pizza business, he is intensely interested in this combination pizza cook-off and industry trade show.

As he knows, the Second Annual Global Pizza Summit is taking place in his own back yard, New York City. Attendees will learn all about the latest in the pizza industry, including educational seminars, cooking demonstrations, and other events that relate to pizza restaurants. And pizza makers will have the opportunity to strut their stuff in pizza making competitions. The winner will take home the very first US Caputo Cup for pizza making.

Stephen Crivillaro says that the Caputo Cup in the United States has been a long time coming. The world's most renowned pizza competition has been around for thirteen years, but has always been centered in Naples, Italy. Pizza makers enter their pies in two categories: Traditional Neapolitan, and New York Style. A panel of industry professionals and restaurateurs will decide the winners. As a pizza enthusiast, Stephen Crivillaro has no strong preference for one style over the other. Each categories has a one thousand dollar first prize, along with a pallet of Caputo pizza flour.

This very first Global Pizza Summit and Caputo Cup Pizza Competition on American shores will be held at the Neapolitan Express Studio
