What we’re looking for in SeedCon’s Fast Pitch Competition

A few people have asked us what type of companies we’re looking for and how will they be judged in the SeedCon Fast Pitch Competition.

We are looking for all types of early-stage businesses that haven’t received more than $10,000 in funding. Whether your business is to create a solution for finding trustworthy babysitters last minute or to change the book publishing industry, submit your idea to the SeedCon Fast Pitch Competition.

During the competition, the judges will be looking at three components of your pitch:

VIABILITY OF COMPANY
Is the value proposition easy to understand and compelling to your customers and investors? Do you have a competitive advantage and can you sustain that advantage? Can you present a realistic and actionable market entry and growth strategy?

PRESENTATION
Do you present in a logical and understandable manner? Is it easy to follow your story? Do you show passion in your business? Can you respond to the questions from investors with confidence?

INVESTMENT POTENTIAL
Would investors want to invest in your idea?

Reminder
This competition is open to the public, but you must submit your entry on the Google form AND through a blog post on Built In Chicago. We also highly recommend that you create a 2-minute YouTube video to include in your blog post. The video with the most ‘likes’ will receive automatic entry into the final round. The deadline to enter in the SeedCon Fast Pitch Competition is Friday, November 2nd at midnight.

Check out some of the entries already posted: Music Zaar, SmartRX Rep, and Compliment Karma.

Our list of prizes keeps growing, and we now have over $100,000 worth of in-kind services for finalists and winners.
