IdeaMensch is a community created for people who bring ideas to life. Instead of celebrating how an idea is formed, IdeaMensch explores the journey entrepreneurs embark on in order to insure their ideas succeed.

This past weekend, Summer 2012 Code Academy students gathered in 1871 for their first Build-a-thon. Already in week 5 of 11, students challeneged themselves to see how much they could build and design in just 24 hours.

Just this past Tuesday night, our Spring Quarter students rocked out 1871 with their Demo Day presentations. And while the 19 teams showed off their great web apps, those five-minute presentations really represented was three months of hard work.

A whirlwind five-day event that showcases the developing technology renaissance in Chicago, known as TechWeek, begins tomorrow throughout Merchandise Mart.
