Local fashion site The Social Closet, which just launched June 1, is determined to stand out in the competitive eCommerce fashion world, which was estimated at $34 billion worth of sales in 2011.

Opening next month, The School for Digital Craftsmanship is the latest initiative to emerge from Manifest Digital, a strategic consultancy and creative agency based in Chicago and St. Louis.

In a large conference room devoid of windows, a segment of the Obama 2012 campaign team set up camp. For two years, the Obama for America Analytics Department worked out of that room, lovingly called “The Cave,” building, analyzing and exploring.

Last night, a friendly crowd of entrepreneurs, students, investors, engineers and others enjoyed snacks and drinks as five new companies pitched their stories upstairs at Rockit Bar & Grill.

Lesson Lot is an online database and service provider created to assist individuals in finding suitable instructors at an affordable price. Lesson Lot provides support in Sports, Fitness, Music, and Education. Our website, LessonLot.com helps people find instructors locally by organizing them and providing their instructor hourly rates, location of lesson, qualifications and also reviews and ratings.

It’s that time again: Time for founders representing five companies to pitch their ideas to Built In Chicago’s community of entrepreneurs, students, engineers and more at the monthly Launch. April’s event took place at Rockit Bar & Grill, in the packed upstairs bar that has become a familiar home for these meetings.
