Ever grow tired and impatient having to wait in long customs lines when you travel? Those days are over with the implementation of touch screen kiosks in airports. Airports are beginning to make the switch from having travelers fill out paper work to having them simply answer a few questions on a touch screen kiosk.

Just three weeks after launching from beta, hotel booking site RocketMiles announced a $2 million seed funding round led by Atlas Ventures. During its two-month trial run, the company proved that offering airline miles for hotel bookings could earn users up to 90,000 miles per year.

In the increasingly competitive hotel market, hotels need to have the latest and greatest technology in order to stand out. Let’s take a look at some of the most technologically advanced hotels.

Citizen M, New York: Here guests can check themselves in with touch screen computers. Once they enter their rooms, they can customize their stay with an electronic mood pad that allows them to change the color of the lighting, music, digital art on the TV, and even select mood enhanced wake up calls.

Business travel becomes social and personal again as BTSocial launches their Travel App aimed at connecting business travelers around the world. President Tim Hines and CTO Karl Jackson realized that, based on their experiences, business travel life has become very disconnected and isolated. The new Travel App allows business travelers to share travel locations to meet like-minded travelers while on the road.

Frequent travelers know the value of earning points for their flights. Today, a new service called Rocketmiles launched from a two-month beta to give travelers the chance to earn airline miles for hotel bookings.
