Finding Interns

Does anyone have  a good resource for finding interns? My startup is growing and we're looking for folks with an interest in Biz Dev to help out. Unpaid to start with the opportunity to come on full-time.

Alumni associations can provide great resources to intern programs. As DePaul alumni, I was able to access intern databases at top universities around the country.  However, finding the perfect intern is another topic ;)

What is the age group you are looking for? Are you looking for normal business hours, full-time, part-time? Thanks.

college/grad school but we're looking for passion and willingness to cut your own path above a specific age group and we're flexible on hours.

you should post for an intern on the job board and we can help tweet it out...

Julian:

I sent you a linkedin request, but let me know if there is a better way to get in touch with you. Thanks.

We found few very talented interns through internship.com.  We also contacted few local schools directly who posted our ads in their sites. Few resumes came through that too.

If you are hiring unpaid interns for the first time for biz dev, you might want to look up the legal aspects of minimum wage, as it gets tricky.

a lot of different sources.

You can use sites like internship.com, builtinchicago.org (job board), but also contact colleges directly. You can offer college credit to start with.

hope it helps.

Craig's List has always been my best source for talent of any type, includin interns.

One caution about interns - only bring on good ones, even if they're free.  Otherwise you'll spend more time managing and training than it's worth.  Your time is a cost too.

Hey Julian - I can get your company up for a free profile on RecPass.com.  We have top engineering students from the US that are seeking internships.  Send me a direct message and I can connect you with someone on my team that can help.

I am a current college student and the best ways I have seen companies do is to work with local Universities with internship programs with their students. Many Universities now require students to do at least one internship before they graduate within their field of work.
