event description
The Chicago tech community is thriving—and for the city’s digital startups, there’s no shortage of local inspiration. Success stories abound—and one of the most popular tickets around always seems to be the chance to hear the story straight from the mouths of the Founders. Join us for Chicago Founder Stories at 1871—a monthly, ongoing series inspired by Chris Dixon’s ever-popular Founder Stories on TechCrunch. We’re switching it up a bit, doing our interviews in front of a live audience with GoSoapBox based Q&A, and then posting those discussions online at 1871's website for those who couldn’t make it to the live event. Plus—the beer and pizza is on us, generously sponsored by INCISENT. Chuck Templeton is arguably the most influential member of Chicago's tech startup community having founded OpenTable, as the Chairman of GrubHub (who has raised over $80M) and an advisor to Braintree (who raised over $30M) - both from top-tier national venture firms.
