Sue Covelli began her career 23 years ago as an underwriter at Prudential Insurance. Ms. Covelli joined Chubb in 2002 as a human resources representative. After supporting several different customer groups within Chubb’s Chicago location, she is human resources manager for the entire Chicago branch. In addition to Ms. Covelli’s HR generalist and business consultant responsibilities, she designs opportunities for employee and leadership development. Ms. Covelli has helped create initiatives to promote innovation, strategic thinking, empowerment and career growth within Chubb.
Scott Golas leads culture and workforce development efforts at Centro, the leading provider of media logistics software and services for advertisers and agencies. Mr. Golas has been a pioneer in the sourcing world for nearly two decades, working as a practitioner, consultant and strategist for companies such as Booz Allen Hamilton, NelsonHall, Aon Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also co-authored two books, “Outsourcing” and “Ultimate Performance.” Mr. Golas earned a bachelor of science degree in manufacturing engineering technology from Purdue University and a master’s degree in organizational development from Loyola University Chicago.
Thomas Pagels is responsible for the daily management of the 800-room property that anchors McCormick Place Convention Center. In his 30-year career with Hyatt Hotels, Mr. Pagels has served as general manager at four Hyatt Regency properties as well as holding several other senior positions. Mr. Pagels is also a two-time nominee for General Manager of the Year for Hyatt Hotels, in 1999 and 2003.
Tom Walter is a serial entrepreneur best known as the CEO of Tasty Catering. Tasty Catering is a suburban Chicago-based corporate catering and event-planning services company that managed more than 10,000 events in 2011 and has been exceeding the catering needs of Chicago-area organizations for more than 20 years. Tasty Catering is built upon the foundation of providing its customers with exceptional service and quality. In addition, during Mr. Walter’s 40-plus years in business, he has started 29 companies and acquired three. He is a national speaker and co-author of a book that will be published in October of this year titled “It’s My Company Too: How Entangled Companies Move Beyond Employee Engagement for Remarkable Results.”
Stephen Reiss has been an editor and reporter for more than three decades. A recent transplant to Chicago, he spent more than 20 years at the Washington Post, where he worked with the paper’s metro, national, investigative and features departments. Mr. Reiss is a native of Ohio and has a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Princeton University.
