The Analyst, Account Strategy is responsible for driving strategy to close the highest value accounts for our Local line of business. This role partners with business development, merchandising, and all other cross functional support teams to analyze, optimize, and implement strategies to close and drive incremental performance for these top accounts.

 Account Strategy Analyst is responsible for the following:

  • Analyze prospective accounts to prioritize building account plans and supporting sales teams throughout the sales cycle

  • Leverage data to inform prospective target accounts and develop sales strategy

  • Identify accounts that are high potential prospects and add to BD Prospect list

  • Maintain upkeep of business development pipeline reporting, including weekly summaries and action items

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, marketing, operations, and product to best implement demand strategies for each account

  • Take a broad look at the competitive space and industry of the biggest accounts, both considering competition within and outside of Groupon

  • Present updated deal structures and action plans for sales leaders to directly influence merchant conversations. Coach and follow up to ensure swift follow through.

  • Monitor performance of deals vs. expectations and optimize ongoing campaigns to ensure accounts are meeting forecasts

  • Support the development of Quarterly Business Review presentations for merchants highlighting opportunities for performance improvement via strategic action plans and problem solving

 Desired Experience and Qualities:

  • 2-4 years of relevant business analytics experience required. 4+ years strongly preferred.

  • Completion of rigorous undergraduate program, ideally in analytics, economics, or marketing.

  • Background in business development sales, sales strategy, or revenue management strongly preferred.

  • Left- and right-brain thinker – Able to identify problems and opportunities in data to then formulate a creative solution.

  • Ability to manipulate data and derive insights from complex datasets from multiple sources to create strategic solutions.

  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills required. Intermediate experience using business intelligence software such as Tableau. SQL skills highly preferred. 

  • Independent worker comfortable taking initiative and driving change in fast changing environment.

  • Strong cross-functional skills and problem-solving skills required.

  • Ability to influence and drive results in a matrix-level organization

  • Sharp attention to detail.
