 Groupon’s North America Local and Gateways Revenue Optimization team has the cool responsibility of being business matchmakers.  Through the tweaking of key business levers and the optimization of algorithm, our mission is to find “dealmates” by introducing available deals to the individuals most likely to be interested in purchasing those deals.    

As an Analyst, Revenue Optimization, you will work closely with partners in Merchandising, Marketing, Relevance Engineering, and Email Audience Distribution Management to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop plans of action to maximize revenue.  You will be required to understand and interpret data structures and business performance at various levels of detail in order to generate objective, data-driven, and actionable short and long-term recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data to understand macro business trends and measure effectiveness of campaigns, email audience mixes, relevance tests, promotions and merchandising levers

  • Track business performance through the creation of standard and ad hoc analyses

  • Develop insights to identify areas of opportunity, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to take action

  • Communicate performance trends and analyses to key stakeholders across the organization
     

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years professional data analytics experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business, or Economics

  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel database management skills and/or strong SQL required

  • Experience with Tableau, Hive, or R is helpful

  • Prior experience with marketing effectiveness or analytics would be considered a bonus

  • Excited by working with data, measuring performance, and making objective decisions based on quantitative and/or deductive reasoning

  • Self-starter, fast learner, adaptive to fast-paced working environment

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management
