What is BookedOut?

BookedOut is an accessible, trusted marketplace offering everyday individuals opportunities to work events with the world’s biggest brands.  Through a proven shift-booking process delivered via an intuitive mobile user experience, motivated people across the US are now representing the products and services they already know and love.

This past year we implemented a full tech evolution into mobile that has led to a complete company rebrand and the launch of BookedOut – but we’re not newcomers. Our team of Founders spent the past 6 years as industry leaders in the experiential marketing contractor space. We’ve activated 1,000,000 event hours (yes, 1 million), proudly providing tens of thousands of talented people with opportunities to put their skills and education to use and earn great money. With that expertise as a rock-solid foundation, we built an efficient, feature-rich mobile marketplace to scale to unlimited opportunities for everyone.

But that’s not enough. We want to build more, which is why we need you!   We looking for an Art Director / Designer to join our Chicago startup and take an integral role in defining and creating the BookedOut brand.

Cool stuff you’ll be doing

As part of the design team you will own cross platform user experiences of our products; on mobile, tablet and the desktop. You will be doing hands-on design work in addition to helping define the BookedOut product and brand.

• Create visual designs and user Interface design that address business, brand, market, and user requirements, including design and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, and interface elements.
• Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user-centered design process.
• Create and iterate on assets that reflect a brand, reinforce a voice, and inject beauty and life into a product.
• Produce brand standards and style guides for creating interactive, user-centric products.
• Be the keeper of the brand look and feel and ensure all creative broadcast across all channels lives up to the highest quality of the company’s visual standards.

What we’re looking for?

Skills & Experience:

• Education BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS.
• Experience designing outstanding web-based and/or mobile products for a consumer-oriented website.
• Experience creating flexible, informative data visualizations from complex sources.
• Experience collaborating with user researchers, content strategists, product managers, and engineers.
• Experience creating marketing material adhering to larger brand guidelines.
• A good understanding of current web & mobile technologies and design trends.
• Ability to move through the design process at a very fast pace.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management and engineering.
• Attention to detail is critical.
