Overview of the Associate Director of Pricing and Analytics role:

The Associate Director of Pricing and Analytics will work with the Strategy, Pricing, and Analytics team to drive consistency, discipline and innovation in SMS Assist’s customer offerings to maximize revenue and margin derived from each contract, driving top line growth, building deeper customer relationships, and shortening deal cycle times.  This group will also work as a partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to evaluate risk when underwriting deals with rate card pricing, glide path savings, guaranteed savings, rebates, and pre-bates.

In addition to pricing, this team will provide responsive, accurate, and insightful analysis for all of our Customers.  This team will work with the Customer Relationship Management group to determine critical metrics which will define success for SMS and our customers.

Particularly close and collaborative relationships with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations are critical for the success of this team.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Pricing and Analytics:

Pricing:

  • Work with the SPA team to design attainable guaranteed savings packages (e.g. seasonal, average ticket cost) and specify risks
  • Work with the SPA team to develop new pricing offerings that fit specific customer segments’ context in order to maximize SMS' margin, and work with Sales to position these offerings
  • Work with Operations to ensure confidence in SMS' ability to fulfill at or above target margins
  • Work with Marketing to achieve and maintain awareness of what the market is paying for SMS’ services

Analytics:

  • Work in collaboration with IT to design, implement, and automate useful reporting tools and analytics in the Client Portal to improve Customers’ financial and operational management as well as increase SMS Assist internal operational efficiencies
  • Increase focus on uniformity of analysis to help SMS Assist evaluate and compare clients
  • Work with Operations to manage client budgeting and forecasting
  • Customize reports and proactively identify trends in spend and operational efficiencies
  • Identify ways SMS Assist can utilize its existing data to derive data-driven strategies
  • Assist with ad-hoc and long term special project analysis

Qualifications and Education Requirements for the Associate Director of Pricing and Analytics:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Team focus
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in analytics
  • Ability to analyze and translate patterns in data and information into proactive solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail. Exceptional business partnering and communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating results orientation, collaboration, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to present to and communicate with multiple levels within the company and with the customer
  • High level of proficiency with Excel
  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with other business intelligence tools (SQL, Tableau) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to provide instruction, training and guidance to others
  • Ability to motivate and lead others
  • Comfortable organizing and leading individual and group meetings
  • Travel expected: limited
