What You’ll Do:

As a Benefits Analyst, you will assist the Human Resources team with day-to-day operations and people relations. You will help administer all benefits programs, assist with vendor management, and stay on top of current changes and trends in employee benefits and perks to ensure we offer competitive programs. In partnership with HR, Finance and Recruiting, you will facilitate the development, implementation and management of cost-effective benefit programs designed to attract, retain and reward high caliber talent, all while meeting business goals and strategic objectives within our organization. You will be part of a People Team that is dedicated to ensuring a positive and enriching employee experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer all benefits programs, including Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA, Life, AD&D, Disability and 401(k) correctly & efficiently.
    • Provide support during audits.
  • Assist with vendor management to ensure ongoing quality of benefits delivery.
    • Function as a liaison between benefit carriers/vendors and employees.
    • Advise employees on eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors to resolve any escalated issues.
  • Respond directly to inquiries regarding benefits within a timely manner, accurately & professionally.
  • Process reconciliation and payment of all benefit vendor invoices and reporting to Treasury.
  • Accurately enter data into payroll, HRIS and benefits systems, as needed. 
  • Audit information sent from HRIS system to other systems & vendors to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll contribution files and initiate funding for 401(k).
  • Review weekly feedback files from 401(k) plan administrator to ensure deferral elections and loan payments are uploaded accurately.
    • Research and correct any discrepancies / errors.
    • Assist with recommending and implementing long-term solutions, to minimize recurring issues.
  • Counsel employees on leave of absence (LOA) process and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners on benefit-related matters (e.g., serves as liaison with third-party leave administrator, answers questions and provides support pertaining to LOA, etc.).
  • Distribute insurance premium statements to employees on LOA, and reconcile payments received with missed payroll deductions.
  • Assist with managing the Company’s Wellness Program that involves planning and implementing initiatives, events, and communications related to annual wellness fairs, flu/immunization clinics, etc.
  • Assist with managing the Annual Open Enrollment that involves planning, development of communications, and facilitating associated meetings and events. 
  • Assist with the development and distribution of benefits communications and presentations.
  • Conduct benefits orientation for new employees.
  • Identify, report and resolve issues relating to benefits plans. Recommend and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and tangible outputs. Rely on industry standards, best practices, and qualitative & quantitative data to support and/or refine operations methodologies.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including overnight and perhaps international travel.

Professional Background/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience required, within a global work environment preferred.
  • At least 3 years of recent plan administration experience according to ERISA, ACA, Section 125 of the IRS Code, FMLA, ADA and other applicable federal and/or state legislation required.
  • An active Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification or similar certification preferred.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products.
  • Rely on experience and independent judgment to accomplish goals and resolve issues.
  • Ability to calculate, analyze and interpret mathematical information such as differences, ratios, median, mean, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization, and with external vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to swiftly shift approach based on audience.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues/solutions in a manner that is easily understood and actionable despite the audience.
  • Ability to perform well within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at once, without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Ability to operate and influence at a strategic level, maintain composure and professional, deliver results, despite organizational noise.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of extremely sensitive data at all times.
  • Must have strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills and pay specific attention to details.

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
