SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dynamic, action-oriented business analyst to join our product team.  Working with the product manager, the BA will be key in moving products from ideation to production, making lightening-quick decisions and pivoting to meet the business needs.  The role will focus on working with business stakeholders through the organization, from sales to CEO, to define requirements for new feature requests on our proprietary SaaS platform.  The BA will use ninja-like skills to create rapid prototypes and process flows, as well as document decisions, processes, and functionality for both the technology team and the broader business.  The successful candidate will have a passion for technology, be excited to work in a fast moving startup world, be flexible and a self-starter, and be willing to celebrate success with a spontaneous dance party (or at least a high-five).  The role requires a basic understanding of technology, specifically Agile, critical thinking skills, excellent language and analytical skills, and a proven track record of herding cats.

You should be: Motivated by driving new ideas from concept to execution. Capable of operating in teams and on projects with multiple key stakeholders and input points. Familiar with software as a service (SaaS) products, product management, and Agile software development processes. Comfortable with informal work environment with fast-paced, decentralized decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate ideas and product/feature “sketches” into detailed user stories
  • Define business requirements for user stories and lead workflow documentation throughout the feature development process.
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team throughout feature development process
  • Work under the supervision of the Product Manager to develop the implementation approach for new products and features, including required training, rollout methods, and implementation tasks
  • Support the business by creating an understanding of the market, our clients, and identifying market-fit of existing and future product solutions or feature capabilities.
  • Write end-user documentation and release notes, ensuring visibility to appropriate internal and external users to our platform and features
  • Create rapid prototypes to support business discussions and tech requirements
  • Document business processes, record and disseminate notes, and provide visibility throughout the company
  • Ensure the completion of all project deliverables and implementation tasks.
  • Write User Acceptance Test (UAT) scripts and lead the UAT.
  • Deliver product training for sales teams and, on occasion, end users.
  • Identify, track, advance, and resolve project issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years  experience in software products; prior experience in a technology start-up environment preferred
  • Experience with Agile development; some project management experience preferred
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and highly resilient in an environment of changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Appreciation and awareness of emerging SaaS technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; including the ability to learn new software products
  • Ability to convert client needs/requests into business solutions and articulate the business impact of technology to clients.
  • Proven experience effectively communicating expectations to team members, conducting internal status meetings, client status meetings, and client checkpoint/milestone meetings.
