The Business Development Manager role – in a nutshell

We are growing and need a self-directed sales person to join our Physician Services Group. Prior experience in selling to hospitals/physicians or other professional services is desired but not required (we can teach you that) - what is required is that you possess the personal characteristics we seek – a person driven to surpass goals while delivering a great experience to prospects, clients and coworkers. We need someone who knows what it takes to build a territory, who treats the “job” as his or her own business, and who thrives on learning daily.

You will be responsible for selling high-quality, affordable marketing and education solutions to hospitals and clinics in spine, sports and arthritis medicine. Our solutions are all designed to generate exposure and new patient appointments for our clients. You will have a territory, and there will be clients already in your territory and leads for you to work as you attract new clients. 

What you can look forward to in the job:

  • Your core responsibilities are straightforward - learn our products/services and selling approach, and generate new sales:
    • Build out your key prospects based on territory analysis and existing clients
    • Identify and cultivate new leads and re-ignite lapsed leads
    • Contact leads via email and phone, and through periodic conferences
    • Develop relationships, set up brief initial sales consultation
    • Qualify, follow-up, nurture, and close the sale
    • Coordinate with client service team post-sale to ensure we are helping clients achieve their goals
    • Contribute market and competitive insights to product development and company leadership

  • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills - you are able to clearly articulate the customer's needs, our solutions, and lay out next steps that will close the sale
  • You have an appealing personality - you represent our brand with authenticity and clarity – and you know how to engage buyers to address their real needs and concerns
  • You are intrinsically rewarded by gaining attention from prospects through to closing the sale - growing your book of business with happy clients motivates you each day
  • You crave learning new tools and techniques to identify opportunities, advance interest with prospects, and nurture relationships
  • You collaborate effectively with team members who can help you achieve your goals
  • You know what it means to carry a quota and to document your progress using tools like Salesforce
  • Experience in b2b sales, or account management with revenue growth accountability
  • College degree
