About the Role

As the Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new revenue opportunities for our collaborative procurement platform for the meeting and event category with Fortune 500 companies in the technology, financial services and life sciences segments. You will be part of a team that includes experienced Regional Sales Director and will work to fill their pipeline. This team approach will also enable you to develop your skills and learn from their extensive experience so that you can progress your sales career within our company.

Fundamentally, we are looking for driven, high-energy professionals with strong sales instincts and business acumen. You should enjoy the challenge of selling a disruptive, innovation solution where the status quo is our biggest competitor. You must have a proven record of success in a highly competitive sales environment with inside sales experience a plus. Finally, you must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, react quickly to change in direction and operate day-to-day with little supervision.

  

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads
  • Set appointments and do the initial call qualification with senior executive prospects
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop new sales campaigns and drive lead conversion
  • Clearly articulate the company’s value proposition to prospects and explain features and benefits
  • Create a great first impression of our company throughout the sales process; exercise strong communication skills, interpersonal intelligence and follow-up capabilities
  • Track all activity and opportunities daily in Salesforce.com
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive environment, current market and future trends to maximize new opportunities
  • Support the Regional Sales Director throughout the sales process by developing customized solution demonstrations, presentations, needs analyses and ROI models

Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience (event industry or technology solution sales experience a plus)
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Well-developed communication skills; comfortable selling via phone and WebEx
  • Analytical, reflective thinker who can evaluate own effectiveness to maximize future results
  • Collaborative team player who is willing to wear many hats
  • Bachelor's degree
  • High growth potential for this role and in the company
