Business Intelligence Engineer
Job Description
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you are someone who is passionate about using data to solve problems. You have strong critical thinking abilities and are not scared of abstract problems that require deep exploration and evaluation of data sets. You are willing to learn to use cutting-edge infrastructural tools and platforms.
Above all, you are comfortable looking at user experiences and products through an analytical lens, identifying the desired outcome for Catch Co.’s customers and developing data-driven models to solve for that outcome. You are also comfortable building presentations and making recommendations that will be used by executive leaders within the organization to make large-scale decisions about the business.
What you will do:
Work closely with software engineers to identify desired user flows or conversion outcomes and build models to evaluate products versus those events
Analyze and build visualizations to monitor ongoing performance of products touching millions of users each month
Aggregate data and prepare clear, concise recommendations to shape product performance and engineering direction
Be responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, performance of our data warehouse.
Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including working with the software engineering team on the design of table structures and processes used to populate those structures.
Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them to robust and scalable solutions.
Provide data to other team members to drive improvements in key metrics, customer experience and business results.
What you need:
Undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics/ Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitatively-focused major
Strong in SQL (both writing and running queries)
Hands-on experience in programming languages for purposes of data analysis and data mining.
Familiarity with business intelligence tools and systems; bonus for experience with Looker
Work or internship experience with analyzing data and making recommendations in technology, consulting, or financial verticals
Strong organizational and time management skills to take projects from beginning-to-end
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
