The Software Engineer- Applications is responsible for the design and development of custom work tracking and business analytics solutions which drive consistency and efficiency across the engineering department. This position is responsible for the advanced customization of JIRA to support the Agile Development, Quality Assurance and Customer Support, processes used across the product development organization. This position leverages knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and Tableau to design and build out data warehousing and custom reporting solutions.
- Gather and analyze requirements from internal customers and assess impact of required changes
- Design and implement customizations to JIRA workflows, screen layouts, and notification schemes
- Develop and maintain complex data migration ETL processes using MS SQL Server 2012/2016 and other Relational DBMS.
- Create operational and product-related metric reports and custom dashboards
- Help develop creative solutions for departmental reporting/analysis challenges
- Partner with IT and internal customers to streamline and scale data-related processes and workflows
- Special projects as they arise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related subject
- Experience writing complex SQL using Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience creating custom reports using Microsoft SSRS, Tableau, or PowerBI
- Experience with Application Customization and System Administration of JIRA On-Premise or Cloud
- Knowledge and experience developing custom add-ons to Atlassian Products (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence) using Java, Groovy Script, REST APIs, and/or Atlassian Connect is a plus
- Experience with System Integration and Data Workflows Across Systems including Salesforce or other CRM systems
