Category Manager - Retail Division
Groupon’s Retail Division is seeking a Category Manager to partner closely with the GM and Retail leaders to develop and lead strategic initiatives, projects, and category analysis to help drive significant growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Product, Revenue Management, Merchandising, and SEO teams to develop, establish, and optimize category performance and user experience for Retail
Develop and deliver executive level presentations and summaries on Retail performance, strategy, project updates, and retail trends
Manage and lead Retail initiatives and projects both specific to Retail and as they contribute to Groupon’s overall strategies and initiatives
Recommend and define app/website and overall Retail go to market product enhancements for a better customer experience and improved financial performance
Analyze marketplace trends to determine new category-related products to launch, as well as identify down-trending or oversaturated offerings on Groupon to be eliminated or optimized
Interpret/analyze sales data independently and in conjunction with RM and Finance to make strategic recommendations to help guide Retail leaders and their Sales teams
Constantly look for opportunities to improve performance
Coordinate annual, quarterly, and seasonal promotional strategies across the Retail Division and partner with Merchandising to implement as well as collaborating with Merchandising to help the Retail Division support Merchandising campaigns and initiatives
Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years professional experience, preferably in Sales, Account Strategy, management consulting, B2B operations, tech.
Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required
Knowledge of Salesforce, analytics tools (e.g. Tableau), SQL/Teradata warehousing is a plus
Experience and comfort working in a cross-functional role and matrixed environment
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required
Experience in e-commerce
Track record of developing innovative strategies that increase profitability
