As CFO, you will serve as a strategic business partner to CEO and a collaborative member of the senior leadership team. You will be responsible for the day-to day operations of the accounting, finance and legal department. You will help lead the company to meet budget and operational performance goals, as well as all aspects of the company’s financial management, legal, specific new initiatives, operational needs and potential M&A opportunities.

Key Accountabilities
  • Rhythm of the Business and Strategy Execution
    • Continuously analyze and optimize the growth and profitability of the business by customer, product and geography. Identify and drive the necessary changes across the organization including new projects/initiatives
    • Ensure consistent alignment with the growth strategy and organization.
    • Provide an independent point of view on strategic direction of the business, strengths, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities.
    • Partner with cross ­functional senior leaders to identify areas of opportunity and efforts to improve our operational efficiency, and customer service,
    • Build the internal capabilities to monitor, analyze and respond to the market and business environment across channels and product categories.
  • Build organizational capability
    • Assess talents within existing organization to address the current challenges of the business.
    • Partner with the CEO to lead the annual strategic planning sessions, drive the exploration of new business opportunities and growth initiatives, and periodically review progress against plans throughout the year.
    • Serve as the champion of these strategic initiatives across all functional areas and be accountable for their implementation.
    • Act as a change agent and mentor to develop continuously optimize how the business operates internally to better and more efficiently and effectively serve its customers.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee day to day operations of the finance function including billing, collections, payables, payroll, monthly closes and annual audits.
    • Oversee all state, federal, local and international tax matters
    • Manage insurance needs
    • Manage all top line expense, working capital and CapEx forecasting, tracking and analysis and bank compliance.
    • Develop and implement consistent financial and operational processes and best practices to optimize business performance
    • Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and analysis
    • Build and update an operational and financial growth model
  • Investor and funding operations
    • Ensures that the company maximizes cash flow through improved operating performance, and prudent capital investments and efficient debt funding.
    • Manage banking relations, bank reporting and communications, including covenant compliance and potential negotiations (including but not limited to refinancing, extensions of additional capital, and mandatory repayments).
    • Maintain the cap table, options grants and incentive strategy with HR
    • Communicate financial results to investors including the necessary context, strategic insights and any relevant risks

 

Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • A proven financially and analytically oriented leader who is results driven and will demonstrate accountability
  • Experience working with fast growing technology organizations
  • The ability to participate as an active part of the senior management team, and a strong natural aptitude for building collaborative business partnerships.
  • An action ­oriented change agent and a strategic thinker, who can instill a sense of urgency and drive within the finance and operations team.
  • Experience with M&A working on due diligence, negotiating to a close and managing post transaction integration
  • Strong integrity, leadership skills, ability to balance competing priorities, people skills, and agility
  • Experience managing legal, preferred
  • A team player with the ability to motivate direct reports and collaborate with peers.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Analytically rigorous.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty/ comfort with change.
  • A financially and operationally oriented business leader who relishes the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with other functional leaders to find ways to help them grow the business overall.
  • CPA, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, required
