What You’ll Do

As a Computational Linguistics Intern, you will work alongside our Sr. Computational Linguistics Researcher in continuing to grow and refine the Taxonomy library that is used to classify incoming data from Social Media.  This role will be a mixture of Linguistic Analysis and Engineering within a NLP technical environment, and your work will contribute to the development of several new analytics products.  If you are that unique person who is interested in both software programming and formulating linguistic rules for our Machine Learning AI, then this may a great opportunity for you!

What You’ll Need

• Junior level standing or higher in a Linguistics discipline, with formal training in morphology, syntax, and semantics
• Project work related to Computational Linguistics and/or Natural Language Processing 
• Demonstrated programming experience, with strong preference for Python and Java
• Some experience with various NLP Tasks:
  • Parsing (Constituency and Dependency)
  • Semantic Role Labelling
  • Named Entity Recognition
  • Word Sense Disambiguation
• Experience utilizing an NLP library - preference for NLTK
