 Q: What is project44? 

A:  Great question!  project44 is a tech startup that does three things:

  1. We are creating a new industry standard by becoming the first network platform to connect the freight industry through web services APIs.  Think of us as the pipes that allow data to be instantly communicated from one system to another, supercharging the speed of the technology systems that shippers, carriers, 3PLs, and other ecosystem players use. The result is real-time freight transportation management.
  2. We are the first and only company offering dynamic pricing in the freight industry.  You may ask “what is dynamic pricing?” Dynamic pricing is the ability to adjust pricing based on real-time supply and demand.  Airlines are a great example of an industry that uses dynamic pricing – if Virgin Airlines has 50 open seats on a flight leaving LAX to JFK next Tuesday, then they lower the price of a ticket to fill the plane.  If the same plane only has one seat left, then they increase the price of that seat.  Dynamic pricing allows Virgin to fill their planes and maximize their revenues.  In the freight industry today, LTL carriers charge a static price regardless of supply and demand.  project44 is the first and only company that offers dynamic pricing allowing carriers to maximize their revenue.
  3. We are using our the data derived from web services APIs and dynamic pricing to build a predictive analytics offering that allows Shippers and 3PLs meet delivery commitments and proactively manage customer expectations

Q: What role are you adding to your team? 

A:  Another good one!  We’re recruiting for the position of “Content Manager”

Q: What are you looking for them to do? 

A:  Wow, lots of questions.  Thought we could’ve sold you on the first two.  We are looking for a passionate Content Manager to contribute to a content strategy that aligns with overall marketing, product and company strategies.

Q: What responsibilities will they have? 

·         Develop creative, technical and impeccably written email newsletters, white papers, eBooks, blog posts, case studies, print collateral, infographics, research studies and video scripts that express the value of our product, while achieving simplicity.

·         Leverage distribution channels to drive content engagement and achieve maximum brand exposure.

·         Help to evolve the company’s PR strategy and coordinate vendor/analyst relationships to ensure unified core messaging.

·         Build relationships with right team of expert external partners (consultants, universities, industry experts, etc.) who can enable us to meet business goals.

·         Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to successfully execute their vision. Manage deliverable timelines, clearly communicate dependencies, and manage expectations of team and manager.

Q: What skills do you think they’ll need to do that? 

  • 5 years of experience in a content marketing or PR role
    • Impeccable writing and grammatical skills. Stellar verbal communication skills. 
    • Track record of success with content marketing in a B2B environment. Including a compelling portfolio of articles, white papers, videos, case studies, presentations, and briefings.
    • Ability to not only grasp complex, nuanced product and technical requirements, but also market them in a clear and concise manner. 
    • Be hungry to learn - evaluate competitive marketing reports and trends as inputs to a scalable and sustainable outreach model for content delivery
    • Logistics or B2B SaaS technology experience is a plus

 

  • Leadership mentality and entrepreneurial spirit is a must.
    • Be a self-starter who can work well collaboratively, deliver on promises, prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
    • We move fast and are in a state of hyper growth. We need someone flexible to ever-changing processes and excited by a rapidly evolving business model

 

  • Hands on experience with the following tools:
    • Email Marketing Software
    • Wordpress for Blogging purposes
    • Social Media monitoring and promotional tools (buffer, Sprout Social, HootSuite, etc.)
    • Marketing Automation exposure a plus (Hubspot, Marketo  Eloqua, Pardot)

A: Chicago, IL. (AKA The Windy City, Second City, Chi-City, City of Broad Shoulders, Paris on the Prairie, The Third Coast)
